Matt's going to be a DPT!

Great news for Matt and me!!! He’s been trying for over a year to get into the Army-Baylor Physical Therapy program…..he has a bachelors’ in exercise science already, and has worked as a personal trainer and now is a Physical Therapist Tech, but wants to become a Physical Therapist. Baylor is hard to get into….they only take 24 people a year.

We found out just yesterday that Matt got into the Army-Baylor Physical Therapy Program! He will earn his doctorate in physical therapy (DPT) and be ranked as an officer in the Army. Schooling is paid for and they receive a salary of over $40000 plus housing allowance and other benefits. He was ranked #5. He does boot camp in September and then the program will be two and a half years long. He'll graduate in 2014. We'll be stationed at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio for that time. I am hoping to find a job in the area soon! We'll move in August. I am very sad to think about leaving my school but I know this is what we're supposed to do...and I couldn't be prouder of my husband!

Two Elantras

My black '98 hyundai elantra got rear ended a month ago and it was declared as totaled.
The insurance company is giving us almost two grand to keep it! It still runs great...and Matt went to the junk yard and got a new bumper and trunk (half off- labor day sale) and it looks pretty dang good! It's a dark green color but doesn't look too bad with the black. But considering we (well, Matt) fixed up the car for pennies, we're pretty proud. And we did buy a silver '02 elantra for me. It's so nice! We got that for a good deal, too. Matt will get better mileage with my old elantra than his Explorer. And Geico gives us better rates for being married and having two cars on the same policy. Yes! Thank you Mr. Fiebig for running into us (really!).

the future...

Matt visited Baylor's PT program in San Antonio today. It's through the army and he really wants to get in. He was #1 on the wait list last year and will try again this year to get in. It'd be SO awesome if he did. It is his dream. Anyways, I'm thrilled he made a good impression on the Colonels. He got some good advice, too. Matt says it's really a nice campus! But he got lost around San Antonio... that doesn't surprise me. :) Study hard for that GRE and up your score and do everything you can, love! You can do it!

Cheese Louise!

I need to exclaim, "Jeez Louise!" because Cheese is so annoying these days. In our old apartment he'd just bully Mac but now he's gotten some bad habits! He'll sit at the porch door and YOWL until we let him outside! Or if the cats are running around our bedroom at 4 in the morning (once they activated our computer with the wireless mouse!) we get annoyed and kick them out of the room and Cheese will YOWL for hours!!!!!!!! He is yowling right now, who knows why.

He also sits on the bathroom counter and expects us to turn the faucet on for him to drink I guess that's okay, but his yowling habits have GOT to stop!!!!!!! He's driving me bonkers!

Matt insists on taking him on walks, too! Weirdos.
